This is Fallin' Away, the fourth single from the upcoming CD NARROW AND STEEP by San Franscisco based singer-songwriter Denny Brown.

Single #7 Fallin' Away

The concept of classic love, two human beings falling head-over-heels for each other, love at first sight ‘from across a crowded room’, forming a bond and fostering it for a life time, simplifies this very complex emotion almost to a fault.  To some, love is innate, for others, it is learned.  Though, the debate of love being a primary or secondary emotion goes on, it is clear that love cannot be categorized solely as ‘classic’.  Love is as primary of an emotion as anger, love is the cold truth, it can have great intensities and if not cared for become empty or be transient. 

This song speaks about the truth that love can sometimes be incredibly short lived but with a tremendous intensity at the height of that ‘falling in love’ feeling. We believe that this feeling will last forever and for some lucky ones, it does.  However, real and genuine love can sometimes be short-lived but by no means any ‘less’ than classical love which is supposed to live forever.  The transient nature of this intense love may result in the weakening and death of the bond between two people. However, it almost always contributes to the better outcome of either one or both lives.  “Fallin’ away” especially when due to deceit could be as genuine, strong and natural as ‘fallin’ for” someone.
